General English courses.
This English course is for people who want to progress with their English studies and have other family or work commitment at the same time. We have 3 locations available for you to choose from: Kingston Upon Thames, New Malden and Guilford.
The focus of the lessons is on developing accuracy and fluency in English. Students on these courses must be 18+. The attendance is from a minimum of 4 hours to 12 hours a week. The duration is flexible from 4 weeks to 43 weeks (Academic year)
At the end of the course and when you have achieved the level you require, you can study for a SELT (Secure English Language Test), Cambridge exam or British Council Aptis,

All levels from A1 to C1
WHAT TIME ARE THE COURSES?
Morning: 10 am to 12 in Kingston Upon Thames KT1 2PT
Early afternoon: 1pm to 3pm in Kingston Upon Thames KT1 2PT and New Malden KT2 3ST
Evening: 6pm to 9pm in Guilford GU1 1RU
Each hour = 60 minutes
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN EACH CLASS?
The average class size is 6. Maximum class size is 8.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Our General English courses will prepare you to communicate with confidence in real life situations. Teachers will use a variety of teaching methods, latest course books and materials, they will work on your listening and speaking skills, improve your reading and writing ability and teach the relevant grammar as part of the lessons. Each lesson is based on what your needs are and the programme is designed with your goals in mind.
DO I HAVE TO DO HOMEWORK?
A reasonable amount of homework is given and you are advised to complete it. If you have time constraints or family duties, you are happy to arrive for you lesson early or stay a bit longer and do the homework in school. Your teacher is always ready to offer support with this.
HOW DO YOU CHECK MY PROGRESS?
Support and guidance are available at every stage of the course and you have monthly meetings (tutorials) with your teacher to discuss your progress and learning aims. The homework will also provide feedback and marking is done individually or in class, depending on the type of homework.
HOW DO YOU KNOW MY ENTRY LEVEL?
The assessment has two parts, 1) a level test and 2) an interview. The level test is completed with a Google Form and you can do this at home or in school. The interview is in person or online via Google Meet.
WHEN DO I PAY FOR MY COURSE AND HOW MUCH IS IT?
We accept weekly or monthly payments. If you pay monthly* in advance, we offer a small discount because it saves our administration time.
*Please note that some months have 5 weeks and that we do not charge you for the days the school is closed (Annual Holidays and Bank Holidays)

DO I GET A CERTIFICATE AT THE END OF MY COURSE?
We provide an Attendance Certificate stating the dates of your course and the level you achieved. Please note that this is not an internationally recognised English Language Certificate although there is a final assessment. We are also happy to provide progress reports if required (for example for your employer).
